The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed or replaced during the front bumper assembly removal/installation are shown below.

Tech Tips


  • When the front bumper is damaged or deformed due to an accident or contact with other objects, etc., or the bumper installation area on the body is repaired, it is necessary to perform millimeter wave radar sensor adjustment.

  • If the bumper is damaged, there is a possibility that the installation area of the front side radar sensor may be deformed and the front side radar sensor system may not operate correctly, so visually inspect the front side radar sensor installation area (headlight, frame, bracket, stud bolt) to make sure it is not dented or bent.

  • If the visual inspection finds a problem, check the installation condition of the front side radar sensor, and adjust the installation position of the front side radar sensor as necessary.

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    1. w/ Grille Shutter:


      1. Change the grille shutter control mode to maintenance mode.

        Note

        Make sure to change the grille shutter control mode to maintenance mode to prevent the grill shutter from opening or closing when the power switch is off.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:


    • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      Remove the 3 bolts.

      Remove the screw.

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

      Put protective tape around the front bumper assembly.

      Detach the claw and clip while pulling toward the outside of the vehicle and remove the front bumper assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Use the same procedure for the RH and LH side.

    10. w/ Headlight Cleaner System:


      1. Disconnect the headlight cleaner hose.
