REAR SEATBACK HEATER(for Fixed Seat Type) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed or replaced during the separate type rear seatback cover (rear seatback heater) removal/installation are shown below.

  • If the rear seat airbag assembly LH was deployed, replace the rear seat airbag assembly LH, bench type rear seatback pad and separate type rear seatback cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

  • Replace any other damaged parts as necessary.

Tech Tips

Move both front seats to the frontmost position and collapse them to the front in advance.

  1. PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing.

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:


      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      Remove the 3 hog rings.

      Detach the wire harness clamp.

      Disconnect the connector.

    4. Detach the clamp and remove the seat heater control sub-assembly LH.

      Disconnect the connector.

    6. Detach the wire harness clamps and remove the rear seat wire LH.

      Remove the nut.

    8. Remove the strap in the removal direction (1) shown in the illustration.

    9. Remove the strap in the removal direction (2) shown in the illustration.

      Remove the 15 hog rings.

      Pass the strap of the separate type rear seatback cover through the hole of the separate type rear seatback pad to the front side.

      Remove the 14 hog rings and remove the separate type rear seatback cover LH.
