FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during fuel suction plate sub-assembly (fuel filter) removal/installation are shown below.

    Never perform work on fuel system components near any possible ignition sources.

  • Vaporized fuel could ignite, resulting in a serious accident.

    Do not perform work on fuel system components without first disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

  • Sparks could cause vaporized fuel to ignite, resulting in a serious accident.

Note

Do not try to remove the black nylon tube as it is welded to the fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL SUB-TANK

  6. REMOVE FUEL PUMP FILTER

  7. REMOVE FUEL PUMP

  8. REMOVE FUEL MAIN VALVE ASSEMBLY

      Detach the 2 claws to remove the No. 1 fuel suction support from the fuel suction plate sub-assembly (fuel filter).

      Note

      Do not damage the fuel suction plate sub-assembly (fuel filter).

  10. INSTALL FUEL SUCTION PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY (FUEL FILTER)


    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the No. 1 fuel suction support to the fuel suction plate sub-assembly (fuel filter).
