AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the multi-media module receiver assembly, accessory meter assembly*1, multi-display*2 and steering pad switch assembly illumination when the light control switch is in the tail or head position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

  • Inspect the fuse for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK ILLUMINATION


    • *1: for 12.3 Inch

    • *2: for 8 Inch


    1. Check if the illumination for the multi-media module receiver assembly, accessory meter assembly*1, multi-display*2, steering pad switch assembly or others (hazard switch etc.) comes on when the light control switch is turned to the head or tail position.

      Illumination comes on for all components except steering pad switch assembly. A
      Illumination comes on for all components except accessory meter assembly*1 or multi-display* 2. B
      Illumination comes on for all components except multi-media module receiver assembly. C
      No illumination comes on (multi-media module receiver assembly, steering pad switch, hazard switch, heater control switch, etc.). D

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly Click here.

    2. Inspect the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly Click here.

    REPLACE SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Click here

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA NODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the N162 multi-media module receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the N31 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N162-14 (ILL+) - N31-13 (IL+2) Always Below 1 Ω
      N31-11 (-DP) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      N162-14 (ILL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. Disconnect the N40 combination meter assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      N162-13 (ILL-) - N40-39 (ILL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      N40-30 (ES) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
