METER / GAUGE SYSTEM Speedometer Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly controls the speedometer in accordance with vehicle speed signals from the brake actuator through the CAN communication system.

PROCEDURE


  1. CONFIRM DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION DTC)

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (SPEED METER OPERATION)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.

  4. READ VALUE USING GTS (VEHICLE SPEED METER)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

      Determine whether the value displayed on the tester is within the acceptable range by referring to the reference values described in "On-Vehicle Inspection" Click here.

  5. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the combination meter assembly with a new or a normal one Click here.
