VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM Slip Indicator Light Remains ON

DESCRIPTION

The brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) is connected to the combination meter via CAN communication.

The Slip indicator light blinks during VSC, TRC operation.

If any of the fallowing is defected, the Slip indicator light remains on:

  • When replacing the brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU), perform zero point calibration Click here.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output Click here.

  2. CHECK IF SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED


    1. Check if the brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) connector is securely connected.

      OK
      The connector is securely connected.

    OK
  3. INSPECT BATTERY


    1. Check the battery voltage.

      Standard voltage
      11 to 14 V
      Result

      NG (for 1NR-FE) C

  4. INSPECT BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (SKID CONTROL ECU) (IG TERMINAL)


    1. Disconnect the A54 or A56 brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) connector.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      except LHD with CVT
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A54-34 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      for LHD with CVT
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A56-34 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
    4. Reconnect the A54 or A56 brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) connector.

  5. INSPECT BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (SKID CONTROL ECU) (GND1 TERMINAL)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the A54 or A56 brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      except LHD with CVT
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A54-1 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      for LHD with CVT
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A56-1 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the A54 or A56 brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) connector.

  6. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Perform Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the intelligent tester Click here.

      OK
      The Slip indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the intelligent tester.

  7. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Replace the combination meter assembly Click here.
