The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed or replaced during the rear seat assembly removal/installation are shown below.

Note:

  • If the rear seat cushion airbag assembly LH was deployed, replace the rear seat cushion panel LH, rear seat cushion pad and separate type rear seat cushion cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

  • If the rear seat airbag assembly LH was deployed, replace the rear seat sub panel sub-assembly LH, separate type rear seatback pad and separate type rear seatback cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

  • Replace any other damaged parts as necessary.

Tip:

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

    Note:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL


    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • SRS parts are equipped with a backup power source. If work is started within 90 seconds of turning the power switch off and disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, SRS parts may deploy.

      Note:

      After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH

      Place your hand in the position shown in the illustration and lift the rear seat cushion assembly LH in the removal direction and detach the hook.

      Note:

      • Detach each hook individually.

      • When the hook is detached, replace the rear seat cushion lock hook with a new one.

      Place your hand in the position shown in the illustration and lift the rear center seat cushion assembly in the removal direction and detach the hook.

      Note:

      When the hook is detached, replace the rear seat cushion lock hook with a new one.

      Pull in the removal direction shown in the illustration to detach the hook.

      1. Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the connector.

    5. Remove the rear center seat cushion assembly.

      Note:

      Do not damage the rear center seat cushion assembly, body and body interior.

    REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK

    Note:

    • If the rear seat cushion hook is detached, replace the rear seat cushion lock hook with a new one.

    • Do not reuse the rear seat cushion lock hook after removing it.

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure for the other side.

      Insert 2 thin-bladed screwdrivers between the rear seat cushion lock hook sleeve and body as shown in the illustration.

    2. Pull up the 2 thin-bladed screwdrivers to detach the claws and remove the rear seat cushion lock hook.

      Remove the bolt and floor anchor of the rear seat outer belt assembly LH.

    2. Remove the nut and floor anchor of the rear center seat outer belt assembly.

    3. Detach the belt band.

      Remove the bolt and lift the connector holder.

    5. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    6. Disconnect the connector of the rear seat airbag assembly LH.

        Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA.

        Note:

        • Do not pull while holding the wire harness.

        • Do not try to release the lock while holding down the top of the CPA (A in the illustration), as this prevents the lock from being released.

      2. Slide the yellow CPA while pushing down the white housing lock again, and disconnect the connector.

    7. Disconnect the connector of the rear seat cushion airbag assembly LH.

        Slide the white slider and disconnect the connector.

        Note:

        Do not pull while holding the wire harness.

    9. Detach the wire harness clamp.

      Remove the 2 nuts.

    11. Pull in the removal direction (1) shown in the illustration and disconnect the rear seatback assembly LH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly.

    12. Lift in the removal direction (2) shown in the illustration and disconnect the rear seatback assembly LH from the No. 2 seat reclining adjuster assembly.

      Using a clip remover, detach the clip and remove the rear seatback assembly LH.

      Note:

      Do not damage the rear seatback assembly LH, body and body interior.

      Remove the bolt and floor anchor of the rear seat outer belt assembly RH.

    2. Detach the belt band.

      Remove the bolt and lift the connector holder.

    4. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    5. Disconnect the connector of the rear seat airbag assembly RH.

        Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA.

        Note:

        • Do not pull while holding the wire harness.

        • Do not try to release the lock while holding down the top of the CPA (A in the illustration), as this prevents the lock from being released.

      2. Slide the yellow CPA while pushing down the white housing lock again, and disconnect the connector.

    6. Disconnect the connector of the rear seat cushion airbag assembly RH.

        Slide the white slider and disconnect the connector.

        Note:

        Do not pull while holding the wire harness.

      1. Disconnect the 4 connectors.

    8. w/ Ottoman:


      1. Disconnect the 5 connectors.

    9. Detach the wire harness clamp.

      Remove the 2 nuts.

    11. Pull in the removal direction (1) shown in the illustration and disconnect the rear seatback assembly RH from the No. 1 rear seat adjuster assembly.

    12. Lift in the removal direction (2) shown in the illustration and disconnect the rear seatback assembly RH from the No. 1 seat reclining adjuster assembly.

      Using a clip remover, detach the clip and remove rear seatback assembly RH.

      Note:

      Do not damage the rear seatback assembly RH, body and body interior.
