The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed or replaced during the curtain shield airbag assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PRECAUTION
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

When storing the curtain shield airbag assembly LH, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
Check that the power switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

Using a screwdriver, release the lock button and disconnect the airbag connector.
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Using needle-nose pliers, remove the pin from the clip A.
Use the same procedure for the opposite side.
Using 2 thin bladed screwdrivers, detach the claw and remove the clip A.
Use the same procedure for the opposite side.
Using a clip remover, detach the clip B.
If the clip B has been removed, replace it with a new one.
Tape the clip remover tip before use.
Detach the claw.
Remove the 4 bolts and deployment portion of the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.
The bolt must not be reused.
