QUARTER WINDOW GLASS REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the quarter window glass assembly removal/installation are shown below.

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL


    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:


      • After disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds to start the operation.

      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  6. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY LH

    Note


    • Be sure to replace the quarter window assembly LH with a new one.

    • When separating the quarter window assembly LH, be careful not to damage the paint or interior and exterior ornaments.

      B004VGX Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape to the area around the installation position of the quarter window assembly LH on the vehicle body to prevent it from being scratched.

    2. B004WZ3C01
      *a Piano Wire
      *b Clip

      Pass a piano wire between the vehicle body and quarter window assembly LH from the interior.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    4. Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the quarter window assembly LH.

    5. Install the suction cups to the quarter window assembly LH.

      Using suction cups, detach the clip and remove the quarter window assembly LH.

      Note


      • Do not to drop the quarter window assembly LH.

      • Be sure to replace the quarter window assembly LH with a new one.
