Information labels are attached to the periphery of the SRS components. Follow the instructions of the notice. * Use a volt/ohmmeter with high impedance (10 kΩ/V minimum) for troubleshooting electrical circuits of the system. However, it is not possible to make a record of these memory contents. So when the work is finished, it will be necessary to explain it to your customer, and ask the customer to adjust the features and reset the memory. * * * Work must be started more than 90 seconds after the engine switch is pushed to the "OFF" position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery. When the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery, the memory of the clock and audio system will be cleared. So before starting work, make a record of the contents in the audio memory system. When work is finished, reset the audio systems as they were before and adjust the clock. Some vehicles have power tilt steering, power telescopic steering, power seat and power outside rear view mirror which are all equipped with memory function. * Before repair, remove the airbag sensor if shocks are likely to be applied to the sensor during repair. NOTICE : When inspecting or repairing the SRS, perform service in accordance with the following precautionary instructions and the procedure, and precautions in the Repair Manual applicable for the model year. Malfunction symptoms of the SRS are difficult to confirm, so the DTCs become the most important source of information when troubleshooting. When troubleshooting the SRS, always inspect the DTCs before disconnecting the battery. * * * (The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source so that if work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.) To avoid erasing the memory in each system, never use a back-up power supply from outside the vehicle. * Do not expose the following parts directly to hot air or flame; * Side airbag assembly * Steering wheel pad * Front passenger airbag assembly * Curtain shield airbag assembly * Knee airbag assembly * Seat belt pretensioner * Center airbag sensor assembly * Front airbag sensor assembly * Door side airbag sensor assembly * Side airbag sensor assembly * Rear airbag sensor assembly * Rear seat airbag assmbly Side Airbag Sensor Assembly LH N8 BCR+ BBR- BBR+ BBR+ BBR- BCR- R+ N9 Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly LH PL- PL+ BCL- No. 2 Side Airbag Sensor Assembly RH O46 R- BCR+ BCR- L+ BCL- O12 Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly RH PR- PR+ z13 Front Seat Airbag Assembly LH Rear Seat Airbag Assembly RH SRR+ SRR- SRL- SRL+ 4 3 Rear Seat Airbag Assembly LH z12 A12 Front Airbag Sensor LH O23 Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly RH -SL +SL +SL -SL 1 ICR+ ICR- Y Y 2 Y-B A58 Front Airbag Sensor RH Y-B Y ICL- ICL+ -SR +SR +SR -SR P2+ P2- Instrument Panel Passenger Airbag Assembly without Door b1(A),b2(B) Y D- D+ P- DK+ DK+ I40 Lower No. 1 Instrument Panel Airbag Assembly Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly LH N27 N44 z10 1 51 3A Y-B 47 3A 1 z11 Y 8 Y C E2 7 C 1 No. 2 Side Airbag Sensor Assembly LH B 7 3B 25 3A 2 B Y-B 2 1 E1 1 10A A/B 2 3A 2 B 2 B 5 1 3 2 21 GR GR GR P BR G FSR- FSR+ W B Y L W-B Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly RH d20 Lower No. 2 Instrument Panel Airbag Assembly I212 1 2 1 2 Door Side Airbag Sensor RH J11 Door Side Airbag Sensor LH K14 Occupant Detection ECU BCL+ d8(A),d11(B) R W W 2 1 2 1 BCL+ Y Y-B Y Y-B 46 (IG) IG2 2 DK- D2- D2+ Spiral Cable Sub-Assembly I27(A),z4(F),z5(E) 1 E 2 E 3 A 4 A D- D+ 1 F 2 F 2 A 1 A P2+ P2- ICR+ ICR- ICL+ ICL- Pretensioner Pretensioner DK- Knee Airbag PK- PK+ Knee Airbag Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly LH N43 LBE+ LBE- Buckle Switch I47(A),N5(B),O7(C) Airbag Sensor Assembly 2 Buckle Switch I93(A),I94(B),I103(G) Combination Meter Assembly CAN I/F 5V IC CANH CANL ES IG+ B R 5A METER-IG2 1 2 (IG) Junction Connector L 1 3 3D 31 3B 26 10A ECU-B NO.1 1 2 (BAT) W CPU Junction Connector I125 W BR P 2 V W I18(B) W Y 1 G 2 G 1 B 2 B LED Driver Telltales CANH CANL 22 A 13 A B W 1 A 2 A D 2 D 1 F 2 F 1 Junction Connector I101(D),I104(F) 14 15 B W A 26 A 13 P W CANH CANL ECM A25(A) Airbag Sensor Assembly I47(A),N5(B),O7(C) P-AB PAON L B 17 A 23 A (IG) 22 3B 7.5A A/C-IG1 R 2 PAON P-AB A/C Control Assembly I56 16 8 W-B 2 IG+ 6 GND W-B PASSENGER AIR BAG ON/OFF Indicator 8 7 GR Junction Connector I124 SIL DLC3 I39 7 W W Y Y B B W W W W B B W B Driver Side Squib Circuit (Horn Button Assembly) z4(F),z5(E) B B 17 16 1 B 13 B 20 B 12 Front Occupant Classification Sensor LH 2 1 * * * If the following parts have been dropped, or have cracks, dents and other defects in their case, bracket, and connector, replace with new one.
