Even in cases of a minor collision where the SRS does not deploy, the following parts should be inspected; * Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace with new parts. If the vehicle is equipped with a mobile communication system, refer to the precaution in the IN section of the Repair Manual. After work on the SRS is completed, check the SRS warning light. Information labels are attached to the periphery of the SRS components. Follow the instructions of the notice. * Use a volt/ohmmeter with high impedance (10 kΩ/V minimum) for troubleshooting electrical circuits of the system. However, it is not possible to make a record of these memory contents. So when the work is finished, it will be necessary to explain it to your customer, and ask the customer to adjust the features and reset the memory. * * * Work must be started more than 90 seconds after the ignition or starter switch assembly is turned to the "LOCK" position When the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery, the memory of the clock and audio system will be cleared. So before starting work, make a record of the contents in the audio memory system. When work is finished, reset the audio systems as they were before and adjust the clock. Some vehicles have power tilt steering, power telescopic steering, power seat and power outside rear view mirror which are all equipped with memory function. * Before repair, remove the airbag sensor if shocks are likely to be applied to the sensor during repair. NOTICE : When inspecting or repairing the SRS, perform service in accordance with the following precautionary instructions and the procedure, and precautions in the Repair Manual applicable for the model year. Malfunction symptoms of the SRS are difficult to confirm, so the DTCs become the most important source of information when troubleshooting. When troubleshooting the SRS, always inspect the DTCs before disconnecting the battery. * * * (The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source so that if work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.) To avoid erasing the memory in each system, never use a back-up power supply from outside the vehicle. * Do not expose the following parts directly to hot air or flame; (Ignition switch type) or the engine switch is pushed to the "OFF" position (Engine switch type) and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery * Side airbag sensor assembly * Knee airbag assembly * Rear airbag sensor assembly * Front airbag sensor assembly * Center airbag sensor assembly * Seat belt pretensioner * Curtain shield airbag assembly * Front passenger airbag assembly * Side airbag assembly * Steering wheel pad * Rear floor side airbag sensor (*5) (*5) (*5) R-B (*5) 11 2 7.5A RADIO 3B 36 (ACC) R-B (*5) IG MSW+ MSW- GND GND DK- SL+ SL- DK+ SR- SR+ BUSIN RTNIN RTNIN BUSIN MSW- MSW+ BBL2- BBL2+ PL+ PL- ICL+ ICL- ICR+ ICR- SFL- SFL+ SFR- SFR+ PR+ PR- BBL+ BBL- BBR+ BBR- PAON PAOFF 2 1 2 1 Y Y-B Y BUSIN RTNIN RTNOUT BUSIN RTNIN BUSIN RTNIN BUSOUT BUSIN RTNIN BUSIN RTNIN BUSIN RTNIN RTNOUT RTNOUT BUSOUT BUSOUT RTNOUT BUSOUT 2 1 2 1 O (*5) D27(A),G1(B),H17(C) D27(A),G1(B),H17(C) A 13 A 22 CANL CANH 2 13 8 19 P-L R-W P-L P-L R-W R-W BR BR-W P-L R-W * 5 :w/ Passenger Airbag Cut-Off Indicator 15A A/B MAIN 1 2 7 3A 24 3C R-B LG-B (IG) Side Airbag Sensor Assembly LH Side Airbag Sensor Assembly RH Rear Airbag Sensor RH No. 2 Side Airbag Sensor Assembly RH No. 2 Airbag Sensor Assembly Clock Assembly Airbag ECU Assembly Airbag ECU Assembly Airbag ECU Assembly No. 2 Side Airbag Sensor Assembly LH Rear Airbag Sensor LH Passenger Side Squib Circuit (Instrument Panel Passenger Airbag without Door Assembly) W Y (*1) (*1) LG W A 3 Y-P A 4 Y-BR D30(A) (*1) (*1) Y-B Y-V (*1) 4 A (*2) 2 A 3 A 3 A 1 A 2 A D2+ D2-(*1) D+ D- P- P+ P2+ P2-(*1) 1 A 2 A 4 A 3 A 1 C 2 C 2 B 1 B D52(A),z6(B),z7(C) Y-G Y Y (*2) R (*1) Y (*2) R-W (*1) z6(B),z7(C) D+(*2) D-(*2) D2+(*1) D2-(*1) D+ D- P- P+ A 5 A 8 (*2) A 6 A 7 A 5 (*1) A 6 D+ D-(*2) P2+(*1) BR (*1) Y (*2) P-(*2) (*2) (*1) P2-(*1) P+(*2) A 3 A 1 (*2) A 4 (*1) A 2 P- P+(*2) DK- DK+ Driver Side Squib Assembly (Horn Button Assembly) BBL2+ BBL2- Airbag ECU Assembly D27(A),G1(B),H17(C) ICL- ICL+ ICR- ICR+ SFL+ SFL- SFR+ SFR- PAON GND GND P-AB LAPB O (*5) Combination Meter Assembly D7 L-R ES2 ES1 IG+ CANH CANL B 2 2 (RHD) 6 17 B-P O 14 6 DLC3 D10 LG B-Y 16 5 (RHD) A17 Junction Connector ECM A 18 A 19 7 18 O B-P A33(A) 21 21 (RHD) (LHD) 39 39 CANH CANL CANH CANL (RHD) (RHD) W-B R-Y (LHD) (LHD) O B-P 20 9 Junction Connector D43 Junction Connector D43 Spiral Cable Sub-Assembly * * * If the following parts have been dropped, or have cracks, dents and other defects in their case, bracket, and connector, replace with new one.
