When replacing parts, replace with new parts. * Even in cases of a minor collision where the SRS does not deploy, the following parts should be inspected; * Do not expose the following parts directly to hot air or flame; * Before repair, remove the airbag sensor if shocks are likely to be applied to the sensor during repair. * Work must be started more than 90 seconds after the power switch is pushed to the "OFF" position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery. (The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source so that if work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.) * Malfunction symptoms of the SRS are difficult to confirm, so the DTCs become the most important source of information when troubleshooting. When troubleshooting the SRS, always inspect the DTCs before disconnecting the battery. NOTICE :When inspecting or repairing the SRS, perform service in accordance with the following precautionary instructions and the procedure, and precautions in the Repair Manual applicable for the model year. * When the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery, the memory of the clock and audio system will be cleared. So before starting work, make a record of the contents in the audio memory system. When work is finished, reset the audio systems as they were before and adjust the clock. Some vehicles have power tilt steering, power telescopic steering, power seat and power outside rear view mirror which are all equipped with memory function. However, it is not possible to make a record of these memory contents. So when the work is finished, it will be necessary to explain it to your customer, and ask the customer to adjust the features and reset the memory. To avoid erasing the memory in each system, never use a back-up power supply from outside the vehicle. * Side airbag sensor assembly * Knee airbag assembly * Rear airbag sensor assembly * Front airbag sensor assembly * Center airbag sensor assembly * Seat belt pretensioner * Curtain shield airbag assembly * Front passenger airbag assembly * Side airbag assembly * Steering wheel pad ICR+ ICR- ICL+ ICL- DK+ DK- 1 A 2 A 2 1 14 7 8 2 B R B R B R Airbag ECU Assembly L13(A),R1(B),S1(C) SFR+ SFR- P-AB PAON Dimmer Circuit Passenger Seat Belt Warning Light Assembly M1 L L 5 L72 Junction Connector 2 3 10A IGN 2A 23 (IG) L 10 L IG+ PASSENGER AIR BAG ON PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF H1(A) Front Passenger Side Squib Circuit Junction Connector L79 2B 4 3 W-B 8 W-B Junction Connector L80 Pretensioner Pretensioner L13(A),R1(B),S1(C) Airbag ECU Assembly L13(A),R1(B),S1(C) Airbag ECU Assembly 29 C ABFS Power Management Control ECU L5(C) 37 2A 18 2C B CAN I/F CPU I/F CANH 10A GAUGE 2A 31 (IG) BR ES 7.5A ECU-B 1 2 (BAT) CANL Y L23(A) L Combination Meter Assembly IG+ 18 16 Junction Connector L78 R R 19 A 18 A 11 A 10 A 30 A E 1 B 1 E 2 B 2 Junction Connector L82(B),L88(E) R G 2 3 13 14 W (LHD) V (LHD) Junction Connector L117 V (LHD) P (LHD) V (LHD) P (LHD) 35 C 34 C CA2L CA2H W (LHD) B (LHD) 24 D D 25 CA1L CA1H E 2 F 2 E 1 F 1 Junction Connector L102(E),L103(F) 1 E 1 H 2 E 2 H W (LHD) V (LHD) 1 A 2 A V P (LHD) (LHD) P V 13 A A 5 CANH CANL ECM A56(A) V (RHD) P (RHD) B 1 F 1 A 2 B 2 F 1 2 A V (RHD) P (RHD) B (RHD) W (RHD) 4 5 Junction Connector L90(A),L94(B),L102(F) Power Management Control ECU L5(C),L6(D) W (RHD) P (RHD) P (LHD) W (LHD) P(RHD) P(LHD) W(RHD) W(LHD) Junction Connector L90(A),L94(E),L97(H) P(RHD) P(RHD) V(RHD) V(RHD) V(LHD) V(LHD) P(LHD) P(LHD) W(LHD) W(LHD) P(LHD) P(LHD) W(RHD) W(RHD) P(RHD) P(RHD) 5 1 6 * If the vehicle is equipped with a mobile communication system, refer to the precaution in the IN section of the Repair Manual. * After work on the SRS is completed, check the SRS warning light. * Information labels are attached to the periphery of the SRS components. Follow the instructions of the notice. * Use a volt/ohmmeter with high impedance (10 kΩ/V minimum) for troubleshooting electrical circuits of the system.
