For the purpose of reuse, never disassemble and repair the following parts. Even in cases of a minor collision where the SRS does not deploy, the following parts should be inspected; * Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace with new parts. If the vehicle is equipped with a mobile communication system, refer to the precaution in the IN section of the Repair Manual. After work on the SRS is completed, check the SRS warning light. Information labels are attached to the periphery of the SRS components. Follow the instructions of the notice. * Use a volt/ohmmeter with high impedance (10 kΩ/V minimum) for troubleshooting electrical circuits of the system. However, it is not possible to make a record of these memory contents. So when the work is finished, it will be necessary to explain it to your customer, and ask the customer to adjust the features and reset the memory. * * * Work must be started more than 90 seconds after the ignition or starter switch assembly is turned to the "LOCK" position (Ignition switch type) or the engine switch is pushed to the "OFF" position (Engine switch type) and the negative (-) When the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery, the memory of the clock and audio system will be cleared. So before starting work, make a record of the contents in the audio memory system. * Steering wheel pad * Side airbag assembly * Front passenger airbag assembly * Curtain shield airbag assembly * Seat belt pretensioner * Center airbag sensor assembly * Front airbag sensor assembly * Rear airbag sensor assembly * Knee airbag assembly * Side airbag sensor assembly When work is finished, reset the audio systems as they were before and adjust the clock. Some vehicles have power tilt steering, power telescopic steering, power seat and power outside rear view mirror which are all equipped with memory function. * Before repair, remove the airbag sensor if shocks are likely to be applied to the sensor during repair. NOTICE : When inspecting or repairing the SRS, perform service in accordance with the following precautionary instructions and the procedure, and precautions in the Repair Manual applicable for the model year. Malfunction symptoms of the SRS are difficult to confirm, so the DTCs become the most important source of information when troubleshooting. When troubleshooting the SRS, always inspect the DTCs before disconnecting the battery. * * * (The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source so that if work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.) To avoid erasing the memory in each system, never use a back-up power supply from outside the vehicle. * Do not expose the following parts directly to hot air or flame; terminal cable is disconnected from the battery. 10A ECU-IG NO.2 SRS H62 +5V W W W 30 DB 12 DH 56 3A 21 3C (BAT) 2 1 10A ECU-B IG+ LED Driver 40 B CAN Controller CANL 23 CANH 22 ET Telltale Light Assembly H67(A),H98(B),H113(C),H122(D) A 13 22 A P- P+ L- L+ R+ R- ICL- ICL+ ICR+ ICR- PASSENGER AIRBAG ON-OFF Indicator (RHD) (LHD) W-B 21 BR 3A 52 3A 28 W-B W-B DS 1 DE 28 P P 58 3A 70 3A (IG) 1 DM 7.5A METER 39 5V CAN I/F DS 3 DE 31 SIL 7 DLC3 H16 W 13 B Y GSW B Main Body ECU H80(B) DC 4 DE 13 CANH CANL H19(A),N17(B),O12(C) H19(A),N17(B),O12(C) 8 A A 9 A51(A),(C),A76(E),(G) CANH CANL 9 10 20 21 Junction Connector A50 24 24 (RHD) (LHD) 23 23 Y W B W B W 10 21 Junction Connector H88 11 22 20 9 SB W Y W Y W SB W SB W * 1 :w/ Curtain Shield Airbag * 2 :w/o Curtain Shield Airbag * 1 :w/ Curtain Shield Airbag Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Combination Meter Assembly Front Side Airbag Sensor Assembly LH Rear Side Airbag Sensor Assembly LH Front Side Airbag Sensor Assembly RH Rear Side Airbag Sensor Assembly RH SFR+ SFR- SFL+ SFL- A 2 2 B 1 A 1 B A 2 2 B 1 A 1 B (*5) (*6) (*5) (*6) 1 A 2 A 1 A 2 A (*5) (*6) (*5) (*6) 4 C 3 C 4 C 3 C (*1 *6) (*1 *6) 2 D 1 D 2 D 1 D (*2 *6) (*2 *6) * 5 :Before Jul. 2010 Production * 6 :From Jul. 2010 Production 4 A 4 B 6 A 5 B 7 A 7 B (*7) 2 A (*8 *9) 13 B 2 DP L (*8) R (*7) R (*7) * 7 :w/o Parking Assist (TOYOTA Parking Assist-Sensor) * 8 :w/ Parking Assist (TOYOTA Parking Assist-Sensor) DE 17 W-B A 6 A 5 D- D+ Y-B Y D+ D- Spiral Cable Sub-Assembly H12(A),z9(B) 1 A A 2 2 B 1 B Driver Side Squib Circuit z9(B) Spiral Cable (*9) (*10) A 15 A 14 * 9 :Before Nov. 2012 Production *10 :From Nov. 2012 Production (*9) (*9) (*8 *11) Hz1 Hz1 AH4 AH3 AH4 AH3 AH9 AH5 AH5 AH9 H2 H1 H2 H4 H2
