When replacing parts, replace with new parts. If the vehicle is equipped with a mobile communication system, refer to the precaution in the IN section of the Repair Manual. After work on the SRS is completed, check the SRS warning light. Information labels are attached to the periphery of the SRS components. Follow the instructions of the notice. * Use a volt/ohmmeter with high impedance (10 kΩ/V minimum) for troubleshooting electrical circuits of the system. * Door side airbag sensor assembly However, it is not possible to make a record of these memory contents. So when the work is finished, it will be necessary to explain it to your customer, and ask the customer to adjust the features and reset the memory. * * * Work must be started more than 90 seconds after the engine switch is pushed to the "OFF" position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery. When the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery, the memory of the clock and audio system will be cleared. So before starting work, make a record of the contents in the audio memory system. * Steering wheel pad * Side airbag assembly * Front passenger airbag assembly * Seat belt pretensioner * Center airbag sensor assembly * Front airbag sensor assembly * Knee airbag assembly * Side airbag sensor assembly When work is finished, reset the audio systems as they were before and adjust the clock. Some vehicles have power tilt steering, power telescopic steering, power seat and power outside rear view mirror which are all equipped with memory function. * Before repair, remove the airbag sensor if shocks are likely to be applied to the sensor during repair. NOTICE : When inspecting or repairing the SRS, perform service in accordance with the following precautionary instructions and the procedure, and precautions in the Repair Manual applicable for the model year. Malfunction symptoms of the SRS are difficult to confirm, so the DTCs become the most important source of information when troubleshooting. When troubleshooting the SRS, always inspect the DTCs before disconnecting the battery. * * * (The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source so that if work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.) To avoid erasing the memory in each system, never use a back-up power supply from outside the vehicle. * Do not expose the following parts directly to hot air or flame; 3 Junction Connector P24 24 8 18 7 12 1 97 96 BR Junction Connector J71 4 7 L17 MPX1 17 MPX2 GR GR 2 GR Q36(G) MPX1 MPX1 G 23 G 24 GR Front Passenger's Airbag ON/OFF Indicator Light Front Power Window Regulator Switch Assembly RH Door Side Airbag Sensor LH Power Window Regulator Master Switch Assembly Front Pretensioner RH (Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly RH) Side Airbag Sensor Assembly RH Side Airbag Squib Circuit RH ECM Front Airbag Sensor LH Main Body ECU LH (Cowl Side J/B LH) Front Airbag Sensor RH Main Body ECU RH (Cowl Side J/B RH) Network Gateway ECU Lower No. 2 Instrument Panel Airbag Assembly Clock Assembly Door Side Airbag Sensor RH Lower No. 1 Instrument Panel Airbag Assembly DLC3 Spiral Cable Sub-Assembly Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly Combination Meter Assembly Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Integration Control &Panel Assembly Integration Control & Panel Assembly A/C Amplifier Assembly Certification ECU Assembly Seat Belt Tension Sensor (Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly RH) Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly LH Front Pretensioner LH (Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly LH) Side Airbag Sensor Assembly LH Side Airbag Squib Circuit LH Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly Occupant Detection ECU Occupant Detection Sensor Front Seat Inner Belt Assembly RH Front Passenger Side Squib Circuit (Instrument Panel Passenger without Door Airbag Assembly) Driver Side Squib Circuit (Horn Button Assembly) Driver Side Squib 2nd Step Circuit (Horn Button Assembly) 12 B 13 A 15 B 4 A DCM (Telematics Transceiver) GSW J101(A) 24 A W LA 10 LA 9 GSW3 A W 24 * * * If the following parts have been dropped, or have cracks, dents and other defects in their case, bracket, and connector, replace with new one.
