(The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source so that if work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy. ) * Malfunction symptoms of the SRS are difficult to confirm, so the DTCs become the most important source of information when troubleshooting. When troubleshooting the SRS, always inspect the DTCs before disconnecting the battery. NOTICE : When inspecting or repairing the SRS, perform service in accordance with the following precautionary instructions and the procedure, and precautions in the Repair Manual applicable for the model year. * When the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery, the memory of the clock and audio system will be cleared. So before starting work, make a record of the contents in the audio memory system. When work is finished, reset the audio systems as they were before and adjust the clock. Some vehicles have power tilt steering, power telescopic steering, power seat and power outside rear view mirror which are all equipped with memory function. However, it is not possible to make a record of these memory contents. So when the work is finished, it will be necessary to explain it to your customer, and ask the customer to adjust the features and reset the memory. To avoid erasing the memory in each system, never use a back-up power supply from outside the vehicle. * Side airbag assembly * Curtain shield airbag assembly * Side airbag sensor assembly * Rear airbag sensor assembly BCL- BCL+ H8 BBL- BBL+ 4 I4 Front Side Airbag Sensor RH 22 BCL+ 1 2 Rear Side Airbag Sensor LH H9 Y-B A Y 4 A CANL R G B B 2 BBR+ 3 BBR- 1 11 1 8 B W P2+ 13 BCR- BCR- BCR+ 2 BBR- BBR+ CANH A BCR+ 1 2 Rear Side Airbag Sensor RH I5 1 Y-B R B H16 LBE- LBE+ LSP- LSP+ 4 2 3 1 LBE- LBE+ LSP+ LSP- C 12 C 11 C 13 C 14 Front Seat Inner Belt Switch LH Seat Position Airbag Sensor Buckle Switch 4 2C 15 Y D- A D- Y-B D+ A D+ 6 5 B 2 1 A 2 A 1 B 10 BT R IG 3 VBT M2 2 1 BSW BGND DIA GR GR W W-B GND W M1 3 G Y VPS GPS 1 GPS VPS GSP 1 GSP Y 8 2 R PS PS 2 G SP SP 1 5 GBT 1 GBT VBT Y B G 2 16 9 M3 M4 Occupant Classification ECU Front Seat Inner Belt Switch RH Occupant Classification Sensor Seat Position Sensor 3 Buckle Switch 3 B FSR+ 12 B FSR- 13 3I 3 3C 3 I11 Seat Belt Tension Sensor BT 8 4 9 17 15 6 7 3 4 B Y R G B B BR 12 11 10 5 13 14 FSR- FSR+ 6 11 W W-B W W B W BR BR B 1 B 2 B 12 B 11 B 24 B CAN Controller LED Driver CPU 2E 31 2S 3 2E 7 4Q 11 4D 9 C14 DLC3 7 SIL W W W 10 4O 10 4M BR BR C17(A), H12(C), I8(B) Center Airbag ECU 2 9 13 20 Junction Connector C48 M2 Occupant Classification ECU W W G G W Y W G G G W W W G B RBE+ 10 21 21 10 20 9 A36(A) W Y B B W W CANL CANH A33 24 23 Junction Connector Engine Control Module 41 A 49 A 2E 2 W-B * If the vehicle is equipped with a mobile communication system, refer to the precaution in the IN section of the Repair Manual. * After work on the SRS is completed, check the SRS warning light. * Information labels are attached to the periphery of the SRS components. Follow the instructions of the notice. * Use a volt/ohmmeter with high impedance (10 kΩ/V minimum) for troubleshooting electrical circuits of the system. * If the following parts have been dropped, or have cracks, dents and other defects in their case, bracket, and connector replace with new one. * For the purpose of reuse, never disassemble and repair the following parts. * Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace with new parts. * Even in cases of a minor collision where the SRS does not deploy, the following parts should be inspected; * Do not expose the following parts directly to hot air or flame; * Before repair, remove the airbag sensor if shocks are likely to be applied to the sensor during repair. * Steering wheel pad * Front passenger airbag assembly * Seat belt pretensioner CI2 AC8 AC3 AC3 CI2 AC8 AC4 AC4 CN1 CN1 IM1 CN1 CN1 IM1 IM1 IM1 IM1 IM1 IM1 IM1 C2 C1 C2 I1
