(The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source so that if work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.) * Malfunction symptoms of the SRS are difficult to confirm, so the DTCs become the most important source of information when troubleshooting. When troubleshooting the SRS, always inspect the DTCs before disconnecting the battery. * Rear airbag sensor assembly NOTICE :When inspecting or repairing the SRS, perform service in accordance with the following precautionary instructions and the procedure, and precautions in the Repair Manual applicable for the model year. * Side airbag sensor assembly * When the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery, the memory of the clock and audio system will be cleared. So before starting work, make a record of the contents in the audio memory system. When work is finished, reset the audio systems as they were before and adjust the clock. Some vehicles have power tilt steering, power telescopic steering, power seat and power outside rear view mirror which are all equipped with memory function. However, it is not possible to make a record of these memory contents. So when the work is finished, it will be necessary to explain it to your customer, and ask the customer to adjust the features and reset the memory. To avoid erasing the memory in each system, never use a back-up power supply from outside the vehicle. * Knee airbag assembly 1 SIG1 SGD1 1 2 SVC1 3 Q1 Curtain Shield Airbag Squib (RH) B 11 L B 7 B 1 BGND BSW W GR SIG1 B-O B-O B-O B-O B W B R BR G SGD1 SVC2 SIG2 1 SGD2 3 2 Airbag Sensor Assembly Center B 12 B 8 B 2 Q7 GND SVC2 W SIG2 SGD2 L A 3 3 O W-B W-B 2 1 4 3 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2 (BAT) 2 2 10A ECU-B 1B 4 1L 4 5L 4 5M 4 W-R 17 16 E59 Junction Connector +B A 1 W-R W-R W-R W-R W-R 10A IGN (IG) 1L 20 7.5A GAUGE (IG) 1G 4 Occupant Classification ECU Q4(A),Q5(B) P SFR- SFR+ a1 Curtain Shield Airbag Squib (LH) (*1) 2 C C SFL- Y-R 1 (*1) SFL+ B 8 Y-B B 7 Y-G (*1) Airbag Sensor (Front RH) Z1 1 Y-G 2 1 2 (*1) (*1) (*1) Y Y-R Y-B (*1) (*1) Y 1 2 1 2 (*1) (*1) GR-R (*1) L-B (*1) G 24 R (*1) GR-L (*1) P-L (*1) Seat Position Airbag Sensor 5 B SVC3 GR 9 B SIG3 Y 3 B SGD3 W 6 B SVC4 V 10 B SIG4 B 4 B SGD4 BR Airbag Sensor (Front LH) Q2 Airbag Squib (Front Passenger's Airbag Assembly) Q6 1 SVC3 2 SIG3 3 SGD3 1 SVC4 2 SIG4 3 SGD4 R-Y R-Y R-Y 16 2 2 A DIA LBE- LBE+ LSP+ LSP- RBE+ RBE- Buckle SW Buckle SW E1 Data Link Connector 3 5M 13 5K 13 9 7 SIL R-Y 6G 5 R-Y R-Y E29(A),K1(B),L1(C) Airbag Sensor Assembly Center 15A IG1 1J 8 (IG) 5M 7 5K 7 2 6H 2 6F 2 1 17 18 IG+ PAON SW- A/C Amplifier E32 Y-R Y-R V L-W Y-R Y-R AIRBAG ON/OFF Indicator R-Y 6F 5 R-Y R-Y B-O B-O B B W W 1 2 2 1 5D 2 5F 2 A 14 RMSW B-R W-B 3 4 Curtain Airbag Cutoff Switch E75 RMIL A 15 R/O L-Y RSCA OFF 22 A 2 A 9 B 10 B 14 6 18 7 3 19 A 13 A CANL CANH P V 4 15 R W Y W E86 Junction Connector CANL CANH CANH CANL R W 12 1 14 32 E 31 E LG-B LG-R Engine Control Module E77(E) CANH CANL W-B W-B 1 Junction Connector E52 W-B W-B 4 4 W-B W-B SRS * If the vehicle is equipped with a mobile communication system, refer to the precaution in the IN section of the Repair Manual. * After work on the SRS is completed, check the SRS warning light. * Information labels are attached to the periphery of the SRS components. Follow the instructions of the notice. * Use a volt/ohmmeter with high impedance (10 kΩ/V minimum) for troubleshooting electrical circuits of the system. * If the following parts have been dropped, or have cracks, dents and other defects in their case, bracket, and connector replace with new one. * For the purpose of reuse, never disassemble and repair the following parts. * Never use SRS parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace with new parts. * Even in cases of a minor collision where the SRS does not deploy, the following parts should be inspected; * Do not expose the following parts directly to hot air or flame; * Before repair, remove the airbag sensor if shocks are likely to be applied to the sensor during repair.
