ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM PRECAUTION


  1. TROUBLESHOOTING PRECAUTIONS


    1. Unless otherwise stated, ensure that the engine switch is off when removing or installing parts.

    2. Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the engine switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  2. HANDLING PRECAUTIONS


    1. If the vehicle needs to be tilted after stopping the vehicle on a level surface, push the electric parking brake switch twice, as the braking force may be insufficient.

      Tech Tips


      • The electric parking brake determines how much braking force to apply using the yaw rate sensor value for the slope of the road.

      • Push the electric parking brake twice to apply the parking brake with the maximum braking force.

  3. PRECAUTIONS FOR REPLACEMENT AND REMOVAL/INSTALLATION OF RELATED COMPONENTS


    1. If the parking brake ECU assembly or parking brake with bracket actuator assembly is replaced, perform the "Reset Memory" and "Acquire Tension Sensor Zero Point" procedures.
