The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during oil cooler removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  4. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE BATTERY

  6. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT

  8. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH

  12. DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose from the transmission oil cooler.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any coolant which flows out of the No. 3 water by-pass hose and transmission oil cooler.

  13. DISCONNECT NO. 5 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Disengage the water by-pass hose clamp from the No. 5 water by-pass hose.

    2. B007ZEV

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass hose from the transmission oil cooler.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any coolant which flows out of the No. 5 water by-pass hose and transmission oil cooler.

  14. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER


    1. B007XIL

      Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the transmission oil cooler from the front engine mounting bracket.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any coolant which flows out of the transmission oil cooler.

      *1 Transmission Oil Cooler Hose
      *2 Inlet Oil Cooler Hose

      Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the transmission oil cooler hose and inlet oil cooler hose to remove the transmission oil cooler.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid and coolant which flows out of the transmission oil cooler, transmission oil cooler hose and inlet oil cooler hose.

  15. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL THERMOSTAT

    Tech Tips

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the transmission oil thermostat is necessary.

      *1 No. 1 Transmission Oil Cooler Hose

      Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose from the transmission oil thermostat.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the transmission oil thermostat and No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose.

      *1 Outlet Oil Cooler Hose
      *2 Transmission Oil Cooler Hose

      Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the outlet oil cooler hose and transmission oil cooler hose from the transmission oil thermostat.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the transmission oil thermostat, outlet oil cooler hose and transmission oil cooler hose.

    3. B007XME

      Remove the bolt and transmission oil thermostat from the transmission oil cooler stay.

      Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the transmission oil thermostat.
