ACCELERATOR PEDAL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR ASSEMBLY

    Note


    • Avoid physical shock to the accelerator pedal sensor assembly.

    • Do not disassemble the accelerator pedal sensor assembly.

    • The accelerator pedal sensor assembly does not require lubrication.

    • Do not apply oil or other lubricants to the accelerator pedal sensor assembly. If applied, the accelerator pedal sensor assembly must be replaced.


    1. for LHD:


      1. Install the accelerator pedal sensor assembly with the 3 nuts.

        Torque:
        7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }

        Note


        • Do not drop the accelerator pedal sensor assembly, strike it with tools or subject it to impact.

        • If the accelerator pedal sensor assembly is subjected to an impact, replace it with a new one.

      2. Connect the accelerator pedal sensor assembly connector.

    2. for RHD:


      1. B006DT6C03
        *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length
        *b 10 mm Union Nut Wrench

        Connect the accelerator pedal sensor assembly connector.

      2. Install the accelerator pedal sensor assembly with the 2 nuts (A).

        Torque:
        7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }

        Note


        • Do not drop the accelerator pedal sensor assembly, strike it with tools or subject it to impact.

        • If the accelerator pedal sensor assembly is subjected to an impact, replace it with a new one.

      3. Using SST and a 10 mm union nut wrench, install the accelerator pedal sensor assembly with the nut (B).

        Specified tightening torque
        7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 6 ft.*lbf }

        Tech Tips


        • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

        • When using a 10 mm union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.)) + SST (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.91 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 185 mm (7.28 in.)):

          4.8 N*m (49 kgf*cm, 42 in.*lbf)

  2. INSTALL ACCELERATOR PEDAL


    1. Install the accelerator pedal with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL ACCELERATOR PEDAL PAD


    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the accelerator pedal pad.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)
