CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR INSTALLATION

Note

This procedure includes the removal of small-head bolts. Refer to Small-Head Bolts of Basic Repair Hint to identify the small-head bolts.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2)


    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the VVT sensor.

      Note

      If reusing the VVT sensor, be sure to inspect the O-ring.

    2. Install the VVT sensor with a new bolt.

      Torque:
      7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • If the VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or does not move out of place during installation.

    3. Connect the VVT sensor connector.

  2. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Intake Side of Bank 2)


    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring of the VVT sensor.

      Note

      If reusing the VVT sensor, be sure to inspect the O-ring.

    2. Install the VVT sensor with a new bolt.

      Torque:
      7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • If the VVT sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. Connect the VVT sensor connector.

  3. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1)

    2. Install the VVT sensor with a new bolt.

      Torque:

  4. INSTALL VVT SENSOR (for Intake Side of Bank 1)

    2. Install the VVT sensor with a new bolt.

      Torque:
      7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }
