PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY


  2. REMOVE OIL PAN PROTECTOR (for 2WD)

  3. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE (for AWD)

  4. REMOVE STRUT BAR BRACKET SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for AWD)

  5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  6. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL

    Click here

  7. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER PLATE

    Click here

  8. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR

    Click here

  9. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  10. DRAIN COOLANT (for Intercooler)

  11. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  13. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY LH

  15. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY

  16. REMOVE INTERCOOLER RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY

  17. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS TUBE

  18. REMOVE WATER CONTROL VALVE

  19. REMOVE NO. 1 TURBO PRESSURE SENSOR (for Bank 2)

  20. DISCONNECT NO. 4 RADIATOR HOSE

      Detach the clamp.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 4 radiator hose from the water inlet assembly.

  21. DISCONNECT WATER HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the water hose from the water inlet assembly.

  22. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

  23. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY

      Using SST, hold the water pump pulley.

      SST
      09960-10010   ( 09962-01000, 09963-00500 )

    2. Remove the 4 bolts and water pump pulley.

  24. REMOVE IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt and idler pulley sub-assembly.

  25. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly.

  26. DISCONNECT NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *1 No. 2 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 5 Water By-pass Hose

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose and No. 5 water by-pass hose from the No. 2 water by-pass pipe sub-assembly.

      *1 No. 4 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 6 Water By-pass Hose

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose and No. 6 water by-pass hose from the No. 2 water by-pass pipe sub-assembly and throttle body with motor assembly.

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass pipe sub-assembly.

  27. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

  28. REMOVE WATER INLET ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts and water inlet assembly.

      Remove the water inlet pipe gasket from the water inlet assembly.

  29. REMOVE CYLINDER BLOCK WATER DRAIN COCK PLUG

      Remove the cylinder block water drain cock plug.

  30. REMOVE CYLINDER BLOCK WATER DRAIN COCK SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the cylinder block water drain cock sub-assembly.

  31. REMOVE ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 10 bolts and engine water pump assembly.

      Remove the 9 bolts and water pump gasket.
