ECM REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note


    • Perform the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM.

    • After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    • If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  4. REMOVE ECM


    1. B004FAA

      Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    2. Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

      Note

      After disconnecting the ECM connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the ECM connectors.

    3. B004FBW

      Disengage the 3 wire harness clamps.

    4. B004ECT

      Remove the 2 nuts and ECM.

      Note

      If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 ECM BRACKET


    1. B004EDH

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 ECM bracket from the engine room ECU box.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 ECM bracket from the engine room ECU cover.

  7. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER

      Disengage the 3 claws to remove the engine room ECU cover from the engine room ECU box.

  8. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU BOX


    1. Remove the engine room ECU box from the ECM.
