REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

Tech Tips

The following procedures are for BD20 (w/o Differential Lock).

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY


    1. Clean the contact surfaces of the rear differential carrier assembly and axle housing.

    2. Install the rear differential carrier assembly, a new rear differential carrier gasket and the washers with the 10 nuts.

      Torque:
      25 N*m  { 255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

      CAUTION:

      The rear differential carrier assembly is a heavy component. Make sure that it is supported securely.

      Note


      • Do not damage the installation surface when installing the rear differential carrier assembly.

      • The remaining oil may leak out when installing the rear differential carrier assembly.

      • Securely support the rear differential carrier assembly while performing this step to avoid excessively tilting or dropping the rear differential carrier assembly.

      • Install the bolts with the rear differential carrier assembly secured.

  2. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT WITH BACKING PLATE LH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  4. BLEED AIR FROM BRAKE LINE

  5. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL

  6. INSTALL REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  7. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE

    Click here

  8. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Click here

  9. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
