NAVIGATION SYSTEM PRECAUTION


  1. PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note


    • After the power switch is turned off, the radio receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 30 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    • When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, initialize the following systems after the terminal is reconnected.

    • When replacing the radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU, always replace it with a new one. If a radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the following may occur:


      • A communication malfunction DTC may be stored.

      • The radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU may not operate normally.

    • After replacing the radio receiver assembly, if the "New software is not compatible with the system. Contact your dealer." on-screen message is displayed on the multi-display assembly, update the software of the navigation ECU.

    • After replacing the navigation ECU, if the "New software is not compatible with the system. Contact your dealer." on-screen message is displayed on the multi-display assembly, update the software of the radio receiver assembly.
