TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE REMOVAL

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during transmission control cable assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. SECURE VEHICLE


    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.

      CAUTION:


      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.

      • If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    1. Move the shift lever to N.

      Disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

      Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    4. B007WQA

      Remove the nut and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission control shaft lever.

    5. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly with clip from the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket.

      Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the clip from the transmission control cable assembly.

      Disengage the 2 clamps.

    8. B007ZUH

      Turn back the floor carpet.

    9. Remove the 3 bolts and the transmission control cable assembly from the cabin.
