NAVIGATION SYSTEM Remote Touch Screen Does not Generate Vibration Feedback

DESCRIPTION

When each button displayed on the multi-display is selected via remote touch screen operation, the remote touch screen generates vibration feedback according to communication between the remote touch and radio receiver assembly.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

When replacing the radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU, always replace it with a new one.

If a radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the following may occur:


  • A communication malfunction DTC may be stored.

  • The radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU may not operate normally.

Tech Tips

Depending on the parts that are replaced during vehicle inspection or maintenance, performing initialization, registration or calibration may be needed. Refer to Precaution for Navigation System.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY CUSTOMIZE SETTING


    1. Using the multi-display customize setting screen, check that the remote touch screen vibration feedback reaction force setting is not set to "Off".

  2. REMOTE TOUCH SELF CHECK (CHECK VIBRATION FEEDBACK GENERATION CONDITION)


    1. Enter self-diagnostic mode.

    2. Operate the remote touch screen laterally and check that the touch screen generates vibration feedback.

      Note

      Since the remote touch screen may recognize a pinch in/out or flick operation if operated with 2 fingers, always use 1 finger to operate the remote touch in self-diagnostic mode.

  3. CHECK NAVIGATION ECU


    1. Replace the navigation ECU with a new one.
