INTAKE MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

  2. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  4. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 HOSE TO HOSE TUBE (for LHD)

      Slide the clamp and disconnect the vacuum hose assembly from the No. 1 hose to hose tube.

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the No. 1 hose to hose tube from the intake air surge tank assembly.

  6. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the purge VSV connector.

    2. Disconnect the purge line hose from the intake air surge tank assembly.

    3. Remove the bolt to disconnect the purge VSV from the intake air surge tank assembly.

      Slide the clamp and disconnect the PCV hose from the intake air surge tank assembly.

    5. Detach the 2 clamps to disconnect the water by-pass hose from the intake air surge tank assembly.

      *B for LHD

      Disconnect the 5 connectors.

    7. Disconnect the 5 wire harness clamps.

    8. Remove the bolt to disconnect the wire harness.

      Detach the clamp to disconnect the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly.

      Remove the 2 bolts to disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass pipe from the intake air surge tank assembly.

      Remove a bolt to disconnect the No. 2 surge tank stay from the intake air surge tank assembly.

      B006FCW Stud Bolt

      Remove the 2 nuts.

    13. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts from the intake manifold.

    14. Remove the 5 bolts and intake air surge tank assembly.

    15. Remove the air surge tank to intake manifold gasket from the intake air surge tank assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

    Click here

  10. DISCONNECT FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

      Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts and intake manifold.

    2. B006FW9

      Remove the 2 No. 1 intake manifold to head gaskets.
