DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU is connected to the combination meter via CAN communication.

Pressing the VSC OFF switch turns off traction control and pressing and holding this switch turns off traction and VSC controls. If VSC control is turned off, the VSC OFF indicator light will come on.

  1. Click here

    CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output (Click here).

      Result

  2. Click here

    CHECK IF SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED


    1. Check if the skid control ECU connector is securely connected.

      OK
      The connector is securely connected.

  3. Click here

    CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY


    1. Check the auxiliary battery voltage.

      Standard Voltage
      11 to 14 V

    READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (VSC OFF SWITCH)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Select the Data List on the intelligent tester (Click here).

    4. Using the intelligent tester, check the switch input and mode condition on the intelligent tester changes according to VSC OFF switch operation.

    INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Perform the Active Test of the combination meter (meter CPU) using the intelligent tester (Click here).

    3. Check the combination meter.

      OK
      The VSC OFF indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the intelligent tester operation.
      Tip:

      If troubleshooting has been carried out according to Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (Click here).

    INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH


    1. A01NIDJE05

      Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the VSC OFF switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      6 (+) - 7 (E) Switch is pushed in Below 1 Ω
      6 (+) - 7 (E) Switch is not pushed in 10 kΩ or higher

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - VSC OFF SWITCH)

      Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A90-19 (CSW) - F33-6 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A90-19 (CSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F33-7 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
