METER / GAUGE SYSTEM Speedometer Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly controls the speedometer in accordance with the vehicle speed signals from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) through the CAN communication system.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if CAN communication DTCs are output Click here.

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (SPEED METER OPERATION)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. According to the display on the tester, perform the Active Test.

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS (VEHICLE SPEED METER)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the tester, read the Data List.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the tester, read the Data List.

  6. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
