BACK WINDOW GLASS REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT


    1. Remove the luggage compartment floor mat.

  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH


    1. Remove the luggage compartment trim cover LH.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  5. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY

      Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 rear seat shoulder belt hole covers.

    2. A01FR9L

      Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 claws and remove the belt guide of the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH.

    3. A01FRSY

      Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 claws and remove the 3 child restraint tether anchor covers.

    4. w/o Rear Sunshade:


      1. A01FQT4

        Detach the 4 claws, disconnect the connector and remove the center stop light cover.

      2. A01FRYW

        Detach the 4 clips, and then slide the package tray trim panel assembly towards the front of the vehicle to detach the 5 guides.

      3. Pass the 3 rear seat belt floor anchors through the package tray trim panel assembly and remove the package tray trim panel assembly.

    5. w/ Rear Sunshade:

        Detach the 4 clips, and then slide the package tray trim panel assembly towards the front of the vehicle to detach it from the rear window shade assembly.

      2. Pass the 3 rear seat belt floor anchors through the package tray trim panel assembly and remove the package tray trim panel assembly.

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Sunshade)

    1. Detach the 3 clips and 5 guides and remove the No. 2 package tray trim panel assembly.

  9. REMOVE CENTER ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH

      *1 Protective Tape

      Put protective tape around the center roof drip side finish moulding.

    2. Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the center roof drip side finish moulding.

      Note


      • When removing the center roof drip side finish moulding, be careful not to damage the No. 1 roof drip side finish moulding clips.

      • If a No. 1 roof drip side finish moulding clip is damaged or becomes detached from the vehicle, replace it with a new one.

  10. REMOVE CENTER ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  11. REMOVE AMPLIFIER ANTENNA ASSEMBLY

  12. REMOVE BACK WINDOW GLASS

    Note

    As the stopper, bracket and harness are not supplied individually, be careful not to damage them when installing the back window glass.

      *1 Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

    2. Disconnect the connectors.

    3. From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and back window glass as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • If the stopper is damaged, the back window glass assembly must be replaced. Be careful when performing the procedure.

      • Make sure not to deform the upper brackets.

      • Make sure not to damage the wire harness.

    4. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    5. Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Matchmarks do not need to be placed if the glass is not going to be reused.

      *1 Stopper
      *2 Piano Wire

      Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the back window glass.

      Note

      Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the back window glass.

    7. Using suction cups, remove the back window glass.

      Note

      If the stopper is damaged, the back window glass assembly must be replaced. Be careful when performing the procedure.

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 BACK WINDOW GLASS STOPPER

      Remove the 2 No. 1 back window glass stoppers.
