REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Click here.

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT


    1. Remove the luggage compartment floor mat.

  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH


    1. Remove the luggage compartment trim cover LH.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  5. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

    CAUTION:

    When storing the rear seat side airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

      Remove the hog rings and fold back the part of the bench type rear seatback cover shown in the illustration.

    2. A01FS9R

      Remove the nut and disconnect the bracket of the bench type rear seatback cover.

    3. A01FS6C

      Detach the airbag connector from the frame of the bench type rear seatback pad.

    4. Remove the 2 nuts and rear seatback plate LH together with the rear seat airbag assembly.

    5. A01FUVN

      Detach the harness clamp.

    6. Remove the 2 nuts and rear seat airbag assembly from the rear seatback plate LH.

      Note

      The nuts must not be reused.
