FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION:


  • Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Click here.

  • Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.

  • If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, front seatback frame sub-assembly, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK SUPPORT LH (for Sports Seat Type, Driver Side)

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 4 nuts and both paddles of the front seatback support LH.

      Remove the nut and front seatback support LH.

  4. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK SUPPORT LH (for Luxury Seat Type)

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 4 nuts and both paddles of the front seatback support LH.

      Remove the nut and front seatback support LH.

  5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

      *2 Outer Housing

      Disconnect the airbag connector.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.


      1. Push the housing lock and slide the outer housing. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

      2. Push the housing lock again and disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the connector clamp from the front seatback frame sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat airbag assembly.

      CAUTION:


      • The nuts must not be reused.

      • Make sure that the front seatback frame sub-assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
