SKID CONTROL ECU REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

Note

While the auxiliary battery is connected, even if the power switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the driver door courtesy switch is turned on. Therefore, when servicing brake system components, do not depress the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the auxiliary battery is connected.


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH

      Detach the 2 clips and remove the engine room side cover LH.

  2. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT


    1. Remove the luggage compartment floor mat.

  4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH


    1. Remove the luggage compartment trim cover LH.

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  6. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY


    1. A01FS6M

      Disconnect the clamp from the skid control ECU assembly.

    2. A01FTHV

      Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and skid control ECU assembly.

    3. A01FSEJE01

      Pull the 2 lock levers upward to release the locks and disconnect the 2 connectors (labeled A).

    4. Disconnect the connector.

  7. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET


    1. A01FS8U

      Detach the claw and disconnect the No.3 relay block from the skid control ECU bracket.

    2. A01FSKN

      Remove the 3 bolts and skid control ECU bracket.
