FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Standard Seat Type) INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY


    1. Place the front seat assembly in the cabin.

      Note


      • 2 or more people are required when inserting the front seat assembly into the vehicle.

      • Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

      Tech Tips

      for Driver Side:

      When placing the front seat assembly into the vehicle, pass it through under the steering wheel.

    2. Tilt the front seat assembly to the rear of the vehicle.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the front seat assembly and vehicle interior.

    3. Attach the wire harness clamp.

    4. Connect the connectors.

        Connect the connector and push in the connector lock lever to the lock position.

      2. Before connecting the side airbag connector, check that the position of the CPA is as shown in the illustration.

      3. Hold the sides of the CPA and push in the connector in the direction indicated by the arrow until a click sound is heard to connect the connector.

        Note


        • Be careful not to damage the side airbag connector or wire harness.

        • When connecting the connector, make sure to push it straight in.

        • Do not hold any parts other than the CPA when connecting the connector.

        • If the upper portion of the CPA is held when connecting the connector, the partial connection prevention mechanism will not function due to deformation of the CPA. Therefore, hold the sides of the CPA.

      4. Connect the connector.

    5. Align the pin of the front seat adjuster with the hole in the vehicle.

    6. Temporarily install the front seat assembly with the 4 bolts.

    7. Connect the cable to the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

    8. Operate the power seat switch assembly to move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.

      Tighten the 2 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

    10. Operate the power seat switch assembly to move the front seat assembly to the foremost position.

    11. A01FSOWE01

      Tighten the 2 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH


    1. Attach the 2 hooks and 2 claws to install the outer seat track bracket cover LH.

  3. INSTALL INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH


    1. Attach the 2 hooks and 2 claws to install the inner seat track bracket cover LH.

  4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER TRACK BRACKET COVER LH


    1. Operate the power seat switch assembly to move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.

    2. Attach the 2 guides to install the front seat inner track bracket cover LH.

    3. Attach the 2 hooks and 2 claws.

  5. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER TRACK BRACKET COVER LH


    1. Attach the 2 guides to install the front seat outer track bracket cover LH.

    2. Attach the 2 hooks and 2 claws.

  6. CONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Operate the power seat switch assembly and move the front seat assembly so that the nut for the anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly LH can be installed.

      Connect the anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly LH with the nut.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not allow the anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly LH to overlap the protruding part of the front seat assembly.

  7. INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP LH

    1. Attach the 6 hooks to install the seat belt anchor cover cap LH.

  8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the front seat headrest assembly.

  9. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

  10. INSPECT SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM

    Click here

  11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (w/ Memory)

    Note

    Under any of the following conditions, perform initialization of the position control ECU assembly.

    • The power seat switch assembly is replaced.

    • The power seat motor assembly is inspected or replaced.

    • The front seat adjuster LH is inspected or replaced.

  12. INSPECT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM

    for LHD: Click here

  13. INSPECT SEAT HEATER SYSTEM

  14. INSPECT CLIMATE CONTROL SEAT SYSTEM

  15. ENABLE AUTOAWAY/RETURN FUNCTION (w/ Memory)


    1. Restore the autoaway/return function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter Click here.

  16. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH


    1. Install the luggage compartment trim cover.

  17. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT


    1. Install the luggage compartment floor mat.
