INTAKE MANIFOLD REMOVAL


  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

  2. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT


    1. Remove the luggage compartment floor mat.

  4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH


    1. Remove the luggage compartment trim cover LH.

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  8. REMOVE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and manifold absolute pressure sensor.

  9. REMOVE PURGE VSV


    1. A01FROQ

      Disconnect the purge VSV connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2 purge line hoses.

    3. Remove the bolt and purge VSV.

  10. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY

      Remove the nut.

    2. Detach the 2 clamps and disconnect the wire harness.

    3. A01FVXD

      Disconnect the 3 wire harness clamps.

    4. Disconnect the connector.

    5. A01FTKV

      Disconnect the PCV hose.

    6. Disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the intake air surge tank assembly.

      Remove the bolt and No. 3 water by-pass pipe.

      Remove the bolt and separate the No. 2 surge tank stay from the intake air surge tank assembly.

      Remove the 2 nuts and 5 bolts from the intake air surge tank assembly.

      Disconnect the water by-pass hose clamp and remove the intake air surge tank assembly and gasket.

  11. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the No. 3 fuel tube sub-assembly from the No. 4 fuel tube sub-assembly Click here.

    2. Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly Click here.

      Disconnect the 6 injector connectors and 2 clamps.

    4. A01FTW0

      Remove the 4 bolts and fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      Note

      When removing the delivery pipe, hold the pipe by both ends and pull it straight upward.

    5. Remove the 4 No. 1 delivery pipe spacers from the intake manifold.

    6. Remove the 6 injector vibration insulators from the intake manifold.

  12. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

      Detach the connector from the intake manifold.

      Remove the union bolt, and then disconnect the fuel tube from the fuel pump.

    3. Remove the gasket from the fuel tube.

    4. Remove the fuel tube Click here.

      Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.

  13. REMOVE SOLENOID VALVE ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connector and clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and solenoid valve assembly from the intake manifold.

      *4 O-ring

      Remove the No. 3 fuel pipe sub-assembly and No. 4 fuel pipe sub-assembly from the solenoid valve assembly.

    4. Remove the 2 O-rings from the solenoid valve assembly.

  14. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS


    1. A01FUSC

      Detach the 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the bolt and wire harness.

  15. REMOVE STUD BOLT

    Note

    If a stud bolt is deformed or its threads are damaged, replace it.
