HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SEAL

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the 2 guides and remove the No. 1 front fender splash shield seal.

  4. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01FFMZ

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Turn the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly LH in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and remove the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly LH from the headlight unit.

      Note


      • Do not apply excessive force using a tool.

      • Do not damage the headlight gasket or allow it to become contaminated with foreign matter. If the headlight gasket is damaged or contaminated, water may get into the headlight assembly, resulting in a malfunction of the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly LH.

    3. A01FJ03

      Turn the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly LH socket in the direction indicated by the arrow and disconnect the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly LH socket.

      Note

      Do not pull the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly LH while the socket is connected.

  5. REMOVE HEADLIGHT GASKET


    1. Remove the headlight gasket from the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly LH.

  6. REMOVE DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB


    1. A01FDMT

      Release the set spring lock as shown in the illustration and remove the discharge headlight bulb.

      Note

      Do not touch the discharge headlight bulb glass.
