ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR REMOVAL


  1. RELEASE PARKING BRAKE


    1. With the engine switch on (IG), operate the electric parking brake switch to release the parking brake. Then turn the engine switch off.

      Tech Tips

      If the parking brake cannot be released, use the luggage compartment's parking brake release tool to manually release the parking brake.

  2. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  4. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  5. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS


    1. for Type A, B:


      1. A01FHTC

        Remove the bolt and parking brake plunger protector.

      2. Disconnect the connector.

      3. Disconnect the harness clamp.

      4. Detach the trunk interior electric parking brake actuator grommet.

    2. for Type C:


      1. A01FH1T

        Detach the trunk interior electric parking brake actuator grommet and disconnect the connector.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER


    1. A01FG77

      Remove the 4 clips, 6 nuts and No. 1 floor under cover.

  7. DISCONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE

  8. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE HEAT INSULATOR

      for Type B, C:

      Remove the 2 nuts and parking brake cable heat insulator.

  9. REMOVE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR CAP


    1. A01FIR9

      for Type A:

      Remove the 2 nuts and electric parking brake actuator cap.

    2. for Type B:


      1. A01FDKE

        Remove the 2 nuts and electric parking brake actuator cap.

      2. Remove the nut and cable support bracket.

    3. A01FHSI

      for Type C:

      Remove the 2 nuts and electric parking brake actuator cap.

  10. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE WITH BRACKET ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A01FECV

      Remove the 6 bolts.

    2. Disconnect the 6 parking brake cable support brackets from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

    3. A01FIJW

      for Type A:

      Remove the 5 nuts and parking brake with bracket actuator assembly.

    4. A01FGNU

      for Type B, C:

      Remove the 4 bolts and parking brake with bracket actuator assembly.
