METER / GAUGE SYSTEM Engine Coolant Temperature Receiver Gauge Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The ECM sends engine coolant temperature sensor signals to the combination meter assembly via CAN communication. Then the combination meter assembly indicates the engine coolant temperature.

  1. CONFIRM DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (INDICAT. LAMP COOLANT COOL, INDICAT. LAMP COOLANT HOT)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.

      Indicat. Lamp Coolant Cool Engine coolant temperature indicator light

      ON: Engine coolant temperature indicator light illuminates.

      OFF: Engine coolant temperature indicator light turns off.

      ON: Engine coolant temperature warning light illuminates.

      OFF: Engine coolant temperature warning light turns off.

      Value selected during Active Test is displayed.

  4. READ VALUE USING GTS (COOLANT TEMPERATURE)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

  5. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the combination meter assembly with a new or a normal one Click here.
