LIGHTING SYSTEM Indicator Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The headlight beam level control system indicator light in the combination meter assembly comes on for approximately 3 seconds when the ignition switch to ON. The indicator light also comes on when the headlight leveling ECU assembly detects a malfunction.

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - COMBINATION METER)


    1. Remove the combination meter assembly Click here.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F1-39 (IG+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch off Below 1 V

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU)


    1. Disconnect the A43 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F3-4 (LVWG) - A43-6 (WNG) Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A43-6 (WNG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    OK
