INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      Airbag system DTCs are not output. A
      Airbag system DTCs are output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

  2. CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)


    1. Turn the power switch on (READY).

      Connect an oscilloscope between the airbag sensor assembly terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.

    3. Turn the power switch off.

  3. CLEAR DTC


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      DTC P3107-214 is output again. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

      Remove the IGCT NO. 2 fuse and AM2 fuse from the engine room junction block assembly.

    2. Disconnect connector L16 from the airbag sensor assembly.

    1. Disconnect connector L5 from the power management control ECU.

    2. Disconnect connector L16 from the airbag sensor assembly.

      Tech Tips

      As necessary, check that there is no short to power supply wires when performing the above wire harness inspection.

    4. Connect the airbag sensor assembly connector.

    5. Connect the power management control ECU connector.

  10. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU


    1. Disconnect connector L16 from the airbag sensor assembly.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Note

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the airbag sensor assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY WIRES)

      Remove the IGCT NO. 2 fuse and AM2 fuse from the engine room junction block assembly.
