  • Brake actuator assembly (VSC ECU)*1

  • Brake actuator assembly (ABS ECU)*2

  • Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly (electric parking brake ECU)

  • Main body ECU (instrument panel junction block assembly)

  • Yaw rate sensor*1

  • Spiral cable sub-assembly (steering angle sensor)*1

  • Power steering ECU assembly

  • Air conditioning amplifier assembly

  • Certification ECU*3

  • Center airbag sensor assembly

  • Power management control ECU*3

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Tech Tips

  • Perform the following inspection for the ECUs (sensors) which are not displayed on the intelligent tester. If a malfunction cannot be identified, perform the following inspections for the ECUs (sensors) connected to the CAN communication system.

  • Do not remove the combination meter assembly and ECM, as they are the end parts of the circuit. If removed, CAN communication will not be possible.

  • The open circuit confirmation of the combination meter assembly, ECM and main wire is performed in the Check CAN Bus Line procedure of "How to Proceed with Troubleshooting". This inspection only has procedures for checking for an open circuit on one side of the CAN branch wire.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN ONE SIDE OF CAN BRANCH WIRE (BRAKE ACTUATOR)

    1. Disconnect the A41*1 brake actuator assembly (ABS ECU) or A42*2 or A43*3 brake actuator assembly (VSC ECU) connector.

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN ONE SIDE OF CAN BRANCH WIRE (BRAKE ACTUATOR BRANCH WIRE)

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal before measuring the resistances of the main wire and the branch wire.

      CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Note

      • w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
