FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:


    • The nuts must not be reused.

    • Make sure that the front seat frame assembly with adjuster is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.


    1. A01NCOA

      Install the front seat side airbag assembly with 2 new nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }
    2. A01NDBN

      Engage the 2 clamps.

    3. A01NFRI

      Engage the 3 clamps to install the wire harness.

  2. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD

      *1 Side Airbag

      Temporarily install the side airbag so that it is stored inside the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

      Note

      Make sure that the side airbag is stored inside the pad correctly. Otherwise the side airbag may not deploy properly.

    2. Install bracket A onto the bolt.

    3. Install bracket B onto the bolt and insert the guide.

    4. Install the front seatback cover bracket with the nut.

      Torque:
      5.6 N*m  { 57 kgf*cm, 50 in.*lbf }

      CAUTION:


      • For vehicles with side airbags, the seatback cover must be securely installed. Otherwise, the side airbags may not deploy properly.

      • Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.

      • Install the bracket securely.

      Engage the 6 hooks as shown in the illustration.

    6. A01NFCN

      Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover to the seat frame with 5 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

    7. A01NHUH

      Engage the 2 hooks and install the front seatback cover with pad.

  3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

      Engage the 4 claws and install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

  4. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Engage the 2 hooks to install the front seatback board cover sub-assembly.

  5. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Engage the 2 guides as shown in the illustration.

    2. A01NDDM

      Install the front setback board sub-assembly with the 2 screws.

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 TELEVISION BASE (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System)

      Engage the 2 guides.

    2. Install the 5 clips.

    3. A01NDNX

      Install the No. 2 television base with the 4 screws.

  7. INSTALL TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY WITH COVER (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System)


    1. A01NDQU

      Install the television display assembly with the 3 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    2. Connect the connector.

  8. INSTALL TELEVISION BASE COVER CAP (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System)

      Engage the 3 guides and 3 claws to install the television base cover cap.

  9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD (w/o Seat Cushion Front Edge Adjustment Function)


    1. w/o Climate Control Seat System:

        Engage the 5 clamps.

    2. w/ Climate Control Seat System:


      1. A01NEUM

        Engage the 6 clamps.

      2. Connect the 2 connectors.

    3. for Front Passenger Side:


      1. A01NE0K

        Engage the 2 clamps and connect the occupant detection sensor connector.

    4. Engage each hook as shown in the illustration.

    5. Install the 2 clips.

    6. A01NDMT

      Engage the 6 hooks and install the front seat cushion cover with pad.

  10. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD (w/ Seat Cushion Front Edge Adjustment Function)

      Using hog ring pliers, install 2 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.

      Engage the 4 hooks.

    3. Engage each hook as shown in the illustration.

    4. for Front Passenger Side:


      1. A01NE0K

        Engage the 2 clamps and connect the occupant detection sensor connector.

    5. Install the 2 clips.

    6. A01NDMT

      Engage the 6 hooks and install the front seat cushion cover with pad.

  11. INSTALL POWER SEAT SWITCH


    1. A01NEDR

      Connect the 2 connectors.

    2. A01ND2C

      Engage the guide.

    3. Install the power seat switch with the 3 screws.

  12. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD


    1. A01NEFC

      Engage the guide and temporarily install the front seat cushion inner shield as shown in the illustration.

    2. A01NGRF

      Engage the claw.

    3. Install the front seat cushion inner shield with the screw.

  13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD ASSEMBLY


    1. w/ Seat Cushion Front Edge Adjustment Function:


      1. A01NG4V

        Connect the connector.

      2. Engage the 2 clamps to the install the seat wire to front seat cushion shield assembly with seat variable cushion switch.

    2. A01NEMB

      Connect the connector to the lumbar switch.

    3. A01NHTE

      Engage the guide and claw.

    4. Install the front seat cushion shield assembly with the 5 screws.

    5. A01NFR1

      Engage the 2 hooks and install the 2 rubber bands of the front seatback board to the seat frame.

  14. INSTALL SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB


    1. A01NDGN

      Engage the 4 claws and install the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.

  15. INSTALL RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB

      Engage the 4 claws and install the reclining power seat switch knob.

  16. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

      Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat inner belt assembly to overlap the protruding part of front seat adjuster.

    2. Connect each connector and clamp.

  17. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY


    1. Place the front seat assembly in the cabin.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    2. When the power seat slide motor assembly has been removed:


      1. Recline the front seat assembly to the position where the front seat cushion shield assembly screw can be installed.

      2. Install the front seat cushion shield assembly Click here.

      3. Install the slide and vertical power seat switch knob Click here.

      4. Install the reclining power seat switch knob Click here.

    3. Connect each connector under the front seat assembly.

    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

    5. Temporarily install the front seat assembly with the 4 bolts.

    6. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.

    7. A01NDY9E01

      Tighten the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat assembly.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 374 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Tighten the bolts in the order indicated in the illustration.

    8. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the foremost position.

    9. A01NH8BE01

      Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat assembly.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 374 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Tighten the bolts in the order indicated in the illustration.

  18. INSTALL REAR INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER

      Engage the 4 claws and install the rear inner seat track bracket cover as shown in the illustration.

  19. INSTALL REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER

      Engage the 4 claws to install the rear outer seat track bracket cover as shown in the illustration.

  20. INSTALL FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER


    1. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.

      Engage the 2 guides and 2 claws to install the front inner seat track bracket cover as shown in the illustration.

  21. INSTALL FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER

      Engage the 2 guides and 2 claws to install the front outer seat track bracket cover as shown in the illustration.

  22. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NCT4

      Install the front seat headrest assembly as shown in the illustration.

  23. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY


    1. Check the power seat operation.

    2. Check the seat heater operation.

      w/o Climate Control Seat System:


      1. Power switch on (IG).

      2. Turn the seat heater switch on.

      3. Wait 5 minutes or more and confirm that the seat surface becomes warm.

  24. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT

      Install the rear deck floor box with the 3 clips.
