REAR SPEED SENSOR (for AWD) REMOVAL

Tech Tips

If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.


  1. REMOVE PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

    Note

    After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

  3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX

      Remove the 3 clips and the rear deck floor box.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  5. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  6. REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR LH

      Disconnect the rear speed sensor connector.

      Remove the nut and No. 4 bracket from the rear member assembly.

      *2 No. 3 Bracket

      Remove the 2 bolts, No. 3 bracket and No. 2 bracket from the upper control arm assembly.

      Remove the 2 bolts, No. 1 bracket and rear speed sensor from the rear trailing arm assembly and the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.

      Note


      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the rear speed sensor tip.

      • Clean the speed sensor installation hole and the contact surfaces every time the rear speed sensor is removed.

  7. REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR RH

      Disconnect the rear speed sensor connector.

      Remove the nut and No. 4 bracket from the rear member assembly.

      Remove the 2 bolts, No. 3 bracket and No. 2 bracket from the upper control arm.

      Remove the 2 bolts, No. 1 bracket and rear speed sensor from the rear trailing arm assembly and the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.
