AIRBAG SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:B1615/14

DTC Code DTC Name
B1615/14 Front Airbag Sensor LH Circuit Malfunction

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The front airbag sensor LH consists of a diagnostic circuit and frontal deceleration sensor, etc. If the center airbag sensor receives signals from the frontal deceleration sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated.

DTC B1615/14 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the front airbag sensor LH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

  • When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  • w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the center airbag sensor and front airbag sensor LH.

      OK
      The connectors are properly connected.

  2. CHECK CONNECTORS

    1. Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor and front airbag sensor LH.

    2. Check that the connectors (on the center airbag sensor side and front airbag sensor LH side) are not damaged.

      OK
The connectors are not deformed or damaged.
