OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

CAUTION:


  • B0072NQ

    When working near the engine room while the engine has started or the power source mode is engine switch on (IG), do not touch the fan and generator V belt or rotating components such as the fan, etc.

  • Touching the fan and generator V belt or rotating components such as the fan, etc. could result in your hand or clothing getting caught and pulled in.

  • B00754N

    Do not touch the engine or exhaust manifold sub-assembly when they are hot.

  • Touching the engine or exhaust manifold sub-assembly when they are hot could result in burns.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER

  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

    Click here

  3. REMOVE INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER

    Click here

  4. INSPECT ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the engine oil pressure switch assembly connector.

    2. Start the engine.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Switch body Idling 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - Switch body Engine stopped Below 1 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the engine oil pressure switch assembly.

    4. Reconnect the engine oil pressure switch assembly connector.

  5. INSTALL INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER

  6. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  7. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER
