REAR FLOOR AIRBAG SENSOR REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR COVER


    1. Slide the No. 1 rear seat assembly LH to the foremost position.

      Turn back the floor carpet.

    3. A01CBEX

      Remove the double-sided tape and the rear floor side airbag sensor cover.

      Note

      Do not reuse the double-sided tape.

  4. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Disconnect the connector from the rear floor side airbag sensor.

      Note

      When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.


      1. While holding the sides of the outer connector locking sleeve, slide the outer in the direction shown by the arrow.

      2. When the connector lock is released, the connectors can be disconnected.

        Tech Tips

        Be sure to hold both outer flank sides. Holding the top and bottom will make disconnection difficult.

      Remove the bolt and rear floor side airbag sensor.

      Note

      Loosen the bolt while holding the rear floor side airbag sensor because the rear floor side airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
