FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note


    • Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Click here.

    • If the front seat side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, front seat frame assembly with adjuster, separate type front seatback cover and separate type front seatback pad with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (for Manual Seat)

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH (for RH Side)

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE

      Disengage the claw, 6 clips and 3 guides, and remove the door scuff plate assembly RH.

  6. REMOVE NO. 3 FLOOR CARPET MOULDING

      Using a screwdriver, turn the clip 90° counterclockwise to release the lock, and remove the No. 3 floor carpet moulding.

  7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT LEG COVER


    1. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the foremost position.

      Turn back the floor carpet.

      Disengage the 6 claws and the guide, and remove the front seat leg cover.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat)


    1. A01CBJR

      Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

    2. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the rearmost position.

    3. A01CCZSE01

      Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and the guide, and open the cover.

    4. A01CBCYE01

      Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and the guide, and open the cover.

    5. A01CEGB

      Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat.

    6. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the center position. Also, operate the reclining adjuster release handle and move the seatback to the upright position.

    7. A01CAQF

      Disconnect each connector.

    8. A01CDOK

      Remove the front seat assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side Power Seat)


    1. The seat travel distance can be customized, this function is OFF Click here.

    2. A01CBJR

      Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

    3. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.

    4. A01CCZSE01

      Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and guide, and open the cover.

    5. A01CBCYE01

      Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and guide, and open the cover.

    6. A01CBCP

      Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat.

    7. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the seat to the center position. Also, operate the reclining power seat switch knob and move the seatback to the upright position.

    8. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

      Remove the front seat assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Passenger Side Power Seat)


    1. A01CCQQ

      Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

    2. Operate the slide power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.

    3. A01CCMKE01

      Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and guide, and open the cover.

    4. A01CCEZE01

      Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and guide, and open the cover.

    5. A01CDSZ

      Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat.

    6. Operate the slide power seat switch knob and move the seat to the center position. Also, operate the reclining power seat switch knob and move the seatback to the upright position.

    7. Operate the front seat power seat switch assembly to fully raise the ottoman.

    8. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    10. A01CCXM

      Remove the front seat assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT LEG ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat)

      Disconnect each connector.

    2. Disengage the 2 clamps.

    3. Remove the 5 nuts and front seat leg assembly.

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Disengage the 2 clamps.

    3. Remove the 5 nuts and the front seat leg assembly.

  14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT LEG ASSEMBLY (for Passenger Side Power Seat)

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Disengage the 2 clamps.

    3. Remove the 5 nuts and the front seat leg assembly.

  15. REMOVE LOWER FRONT SEAT LEG COVER (for Manual Seat)

      Remove the lower front seat leg cover.

      Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle.

  22. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD (for Manual Seat)

      Disengage the 2 hooks (front seatback pocket clip).

    2. A01CDXS

      Remove the screw.

    3. Disengage the claw and the clip.

    4. Disengage the guide and remove the front seat cushion shield.

  23. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD (for Manual Seat)

      Remove the screw.

    2. Disengage the claw and the clip.

    3. Disengage the guide and remove the front seat inner cushion shield.

  24. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB (for Power Seat)

      Using a moulding remover, remove the reclining power seat switch knob.

  25. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB (for Driver Side Power Seat)

      Using a moulding remover, remove the slide and vertical power seat switch knob as shown in the illustration.

  26. REMOVE SLIDE POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB (for Passenger Side Power Seat)

      Using a moulding remover, remove the slide power seat switch knob as shown in the illustration.

  27. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side Power Seat)

      Disengage the 2 hooks.

    2. A01CBEF

      Remove the 7 screws.

    3. A01CF1N

      Disengage the 8 claws, clip and 4 guides, and remove the front seat cushion shield assembly, No. 2 reclining adjuster inside cover RH and No. 2 reclining adjuster inside cover LH.

  28. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD (for Passenger Side Power Seat)

      Disengage the 2 hooks.

    2. A01CFUD

      Remove the 3 screws.

    3. Disengage the 8 claws and 2 guides.

    4. Disengage the 2 clamps from the front seat cushion shield.

    5. Disconnect the connector and remove the front seat cushion shield and No. 2 reclining adjuster inside cover LH.

  29. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD (for Passenger Side Power Seat)

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 7 claws, clip and 2 guides and remove the front seat inner cushion shield and No. 2 reclining adjuster inside cover RH.

  30. REMOVE FOOTREST ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat)

      Remove the 4 bolts and the footrest assembly.

  31. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 FRONT SEATBACK LOCK BEZEL (for Power Seat)

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the lower No. 1 front seatback lock bezel.

  32. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 FRONT SEATBACK LOCK BEZEL (for Power Seat)

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the lower No. 2 front seatback lock bezel.

  33. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat)

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the front seatback board sub-assembly.

  34. REMOVE SEAT ARMREST COVER


    1. A01CFO1

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws and remove the seat armrest cover.

  35. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ARMREST ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt and front seat armrest assembly.

  36. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK HOOK (for Manual Seat)

      Remove the screw.

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw and remove the front seatback hook.

  37. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for Manual Seat)

      Remove the 3 hog rings.

    2. A01CCPT

      Open the 2 fasteners.

    3. A01CBDB

      Remove the 2 hog rings.

    4. A01CALQ

      Remove the nut and disconnect the separate type front seatback cover bracket.

      Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    6. Remove the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

  38. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD (for Driver Side Power Seat)

      Remove the 2 hog rings.

      Remove the 3 hog rings.

      Disengage the 12 hooks.

      1. Disconnect the connector.

      2. Disengage the 2 clamps.

      Remove the nut.

      Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    7. Remove the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

      Remove the 2 hog rings.

    2. A01CDYP

      Remove the 3 hog rings.

      Disengage the 12 hooks.

      1. Disconnect the connector.

      2. Disengage the 2 clamps.

    5. A01CFGR

      Remove the nut.

    6. A01CEI0

      Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 front seat headrest supports.

      Disengage the 2 claws.

    8. Disconnect the connector and remove the power seat switch assembly.

    9. Remove the separate type front seatback cover with pad.

  40. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Disengage the 3 clamps and claw, disconnect the wire harness.

    3. A01CEUJ

      Disengage the 3 clamps and disconnect the wire harness.

    4. A01CCL2

      Remove the 2 nuts and front seat side airbag assembly.

      CAUTION:


      • The nuts must not be reused.

      • Make sure that the seat frame assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
