    ALIGN FRONT WHEELS TO FACE STRAIGHT AHEAD

  2. Click here

    DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).

    REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER

      Disengage the claw to remove the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover.

    REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER

      Disengage the claw to remove the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover.

  5. Click here

    REMOVE STEERING PAD


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), loosen the 2 "TORX" screws until the circumference groove catches on the screw case.

      Pull out the steering pad from the steering wheel assembly.

      Note:

      When removing the steering pad, do not pull the airbag wire harness.

    5. A01CG5VE01

      Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the airbag connector from the steering pad.

      Note:

      When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    6. Disconnect the horn connector to remove the steering pad.

    REMOVE NO. 1 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT (w/o Steering Pad Switch RH)

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the claw and 2 pins to remove the No. 1 steering wheel ornament from the steering wheel sub-assembly.

    REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH LH (w/o Steering Pad Switch RH)

      Disconnect the connector and disengage the clamp.

    2. A01CD9N

      Remove the 2 screws.

    3. Disengage the claw and 2 pins to remove the steering pad switch LH from the steering wheel sub-assembly.

    REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Pad Switch RH)

      Disconnect the connector (A). (w/ Cruise Control System)

    2. Disconnect the connector (B) and disengage the 2 clamps.

    3. A01CBNL

      Remove the 2 screws.

    4. Disengage the 2 pins and claw to remove the LH side steering pad switch assembly.

    5. A01CG1D

      Remove the 2 screws.

    6. Disengage the 2 pins and claw to remove the RH side steering pad switch assembly.

  9. Click here

    REMOVE STEERING SHAKE DAMPER

      Remove the 2 screws to remove the steering shake damper from the steering wheel assembly.

    REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System)

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. A01CDCH

      Remove the 2 screws.

    4. A01CCVS

      Disengage the pin and remove the cruise control main switch as shown in the illustration.

    REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CBKRE01

      Remove the steering wheel assembly set nut.

    2. Put matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and the steering main shaft.

    3. Disconnect the connectors from the spiral cable.

      Install SST to the steering wheel assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note:

      Apply a small amount of grease to the threads and tip of SST (09953-05020) before use.

    5. Using SST, remove the steering wheel assembly.

    REMOVE LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER

      Disengage the 2 pins and 2 claws.

    2. A01CFZI

      Using a pin punch (5 mm), push out the 2 pins and remove the lower steering wheel boss cover from the steering wheel sub-assembly.

    REMOVE STEERING WHEEL PAD ATTACHING SCREW

      Remove the 2 steering wheel pad attaching screws from the lower steering wheel boss cover.
