REAR AXLE HUB INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CG0R

      While supporting the parking brake assembly, remove the 4 bolts.

      Note

      Do not drop the parking brake assembly.

    2. A01CETO

      Install the rear axle hub and bearing assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      90 N*m  { 918 kgf*cm, 66 ft.*lbf }
  2. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS


    1. A01CBJ8

      Using a dial indicator, check for looseness near the center of the axle hub.

      Maximum looseness
      0.05 mm (0.00196 in.)

      Note

      Ensure that the dial indicator is set perpendicular to the measurement surface.

      If the looseness exceeds the maximum, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

  3. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT


    1. A01CDQY

      Using a dial indicator, check for runout on the surface of the axle hub inside the rear axle hub bolt.

      Maximum runout
      0.08 mm (0.00314 in.)

      Note


      • Ensure that the dial indicator is set perpendicular to the measurement surface.

      • Make sure to install the tip of the dial indicator towards the inside of the rear axle hub bolt.

      If the runout exceeds the maximum, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

  4. INSTALL REAR DISC


    1. A01CCF7E01

      Align the matchmarks and install the disc.

      Note

      When replacing the disc with a new one, select the installation position where the disc has the minimum runout.

  5. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING HOLE PLUG

  6. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CDH9

      Install the rear disc brake caliper assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      88 N*m  { 900 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }
  7. CONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE


    1. A01CDNCE02

      Connect the rear speed sensor wire to the rear speed sensor.

  8. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE

  9. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }
  10. INSPECT REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT


    1. Inspect the rear wheel alignment Click here.

  11. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  12. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal for more than 2 seconds.

  13. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  14. CHECK FOR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL


    1. Check for the speed sensor signal Click here.
