TCM REMOVAL

If automatic transmission parts are replaced, refer to the Parts Replacement Compensation Table to determine if any additional operations are necessary Click here.


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for ALPHARD)

      Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and radiator cover sub-assembly.

  3. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for VELLFIRE)

      Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and radiator cover sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE BATTERY


    1. Disconnect the positive (+) cable to the battery positive (+) terminal.

    2. A01CDEA

      Disconnect the 2 wire clamps.

    3. Loosen the nut, and remove the bolt with the battery clamp.

    4. Remove the battery, battery insulator and battery tray.

  5. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER


    1. A01CF2G

      Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

    2. Remove the 5 bolts and battery carrier.

  6. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER SUPPORT


    1. A01CAMZ

      Remove the 2 bolts and battery carrier support.

  7. REMOVE TCM


    1. A01CCDY

      Turn the lock lever and disconnect the connector from the TCM.

    2. A01CBPP

      Remove the 2 bolts and TCM from the transaxle.
